Meta Says Users Needs to Delete Instagram Account to Delete Their Linked Threads Account

Synopsis-

“Recently, Meta is in the news for its Threads app which is Meta’s Twitter rival. Meta says deleting a Threads account needs deleting the linked Instagram account.”

Being in the world of software, Meta doesn’t leave any leaf unturned to give competition to its rivals. Whether it’s Google or Twitter or anyone else, Meta offers similar services for them.

Recently, Meta is in the news for its Threads app which is Meta’s Twitter rival. Meta says deleting a Threads account needs deleting the linked Instagram account.

What is Threads?

Threads is a place where communities discuss concurrent topics to tomorrow’s trending topics that the world cares about. Whichever topics excite you, you can connect and follow your favorite creators and other people who have similar passions- or create your own loyal following to share your opinions, ideas, and creativity with the world.

Mark Zuckerberg, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Meta, says, “Threads is drawing users at an astounding pace, amassing 10 million signups in just seven hours. But the highly-anticipated new service, which requires an Instagram account for onboarding, features an intriguing stipulation: Deleting a Threads account requires deleting the linked Instagram account.”

What is Meta’s Supplemental Privacy Policy?

Meta explains in a ‘Supplemental Privacy Policy,’ “You can remove your Threads profile at any time, but your Threads can only be deleted when you delete your linked Instagram account.”

Elon Musk-owned social media platform Twitter finds Threads, a text-based conversation app, a high-profile rival.

In a Threads post, Mark explained the vision for the new app: “I think there should be a public conversations app with 1 billion+ people on it. Twitter has had the opportunity to do this but hasn’t nailed it. Hopefully we will.”

The app, the latest in a slew of rapidly growing Twitter competitors, appears to be the most desirable so far.
