Apple CarPlay’s new version goes beyond the dashboard

Recently, Apple CarPlay’s new version has hit the limelight. A few days earlier tech giant Apple organized its annual developer conference. At the conference, Apple’s upcoming MacBook Air became a hot topic as the production and distribution of the product is yet to begin and can take more than expected time. Added to that Apple’s attempt to deeply integrate its software into the core systems of cars has also come into the news.

Apple CarPlay’s new version

The earlier version of Apple’s software was limited to the vehicle’s infotainment displays for playing music and showing the map. But now the software and the whole system are being designed in such a way that it can connect to the core driving system of the car. Though Apple’s CarPlay’s new version software is available in more than 600 models and a few models of motorcycles it was not that advanced. The whole operating system was separate from the main driving functioning of the car. To do any kind of basic operation related to the functioning of the car, for example, adjusting a car’s climate controls, the owners had to leave Apple software. But the new software is dedicated to letting the owner do all those functions without leaving the operating system of Apple and is much better and efficient in comparison to the old one.

The first company to install the system in their car

Polestar has announced that they are going to install this new system by Apple in their model Polestar 2. Polestar is s premium electric vehicle maker owned by China’s Geely and Volvo Cars. Polestar spokesman JP Canton said that the current version of Apple CarPlay is being will be installed in the cars through an over-the-air update later this month and models are going to this update have not been announced yet.

Now it will be very interesting to see how the new version of Apple CarPlay is going make the car driving experience better.
