Intel New AI Chip to Compete with AMD and Nvidia

Synopsis-

“Many popular AI models, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, rely on Nvidia GPUs in the cloud. As a result, Nvidia’s stock has increased by almost 230% year to date, while Intel’s shares have only risen by 68%.”

On Thursday, Intel unveiled new computer chips, including Gaudi3, an AI chip for generative software. Gaudi3 will rival chips from Nvidia and AMD and is set to launch next year.

Nvidia’s stock surges because of the latest technology

Many popular AI models, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, rely on Nvidia GPUs in the cloud. As a result, Nvidia’s stock has increased by almost 230% year to date, while Intel’s shares have only risen by 68%. Other companies, like AMD and Intel, are now releasing their own chips in an attempt to compete with Nvidia’s dominant position in the AI market.

Although the company did not provide many details, Gaudi3 is expected to compete with Nvidia’s H100, which is the primary option for companies that construct large chip farms to fuel AI applications. It will also rival AMD’s upcoming MI300X, which is set to be released to customers in 2024.

Since purchasing Habana Labs, a chip manufacturer in 2019, Intel has began producing Gaudi chips.

Intel Core Ultra and new Xeon chips

Intel also unveiled new fifth-generation Xeon chip intel and Core Ultra CPUs, which are intended for Windows laptops and PCs. Both come with an NPU, a specialised AI component that can be utilised to accelerate AI programmes.

It’s the most recent indication that established processor manufacturers, such as AMD and Qualcomm, Intel’s competitors, are shifting the focus of their product lines and warning investors that AI models may result in an increase in demand for their chips.

While it can manage lesser jobs, the Core Ultra won’t be able to run a chatbot like ChatGPT without an internet connection. For instance, Zoom uses Intel CPUs to operate its background-blurring feature. The company’s 7-nanometer technique, which uses less power than previous chips, is used in their construction.

Future Prospects of Intel New AI Chip

As Intel joins the race for AI dominance, the industry can anticipate a series of advancements and developments. The competition is likely to fuel accelerated innovation, with each company vying to outperform the others in terms of technology, features, and market share.

In conclusion, Intel’s unveiling of a new AI chip signifies a strategic move to challenge the established players, AMD and Nvidia, in the fiercely competitive AI hardware market. The technological advancements, promising performance metrics, and the quest for a competitive edge position Intel as a key player to watch in the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence. As the industry witnesses this dynamic shift, businesses and technology enthusiasts alike eagerly await the unfolding chapters of this AI hardware saga.
