FDA Finds Four North Carolina Children Having Lead in Blood
The FDA noted that four children in North Carolina had high blood lead levels that were connected to these goods, which prompted the issuance of the warning.
After examining several lots, state health inspectors found “extremely high” lead amounts in the pouches.
The FDA states that “acute toxicity” could result from this exposure.
The American Academy of Paediatrics states that industrial processes, soil, air, and water can all introduce lead into food products.
