The events of Artificial intelligence or AI, the imitation of human intelligence procedures by machines, especially computers is turning out to be bigger than ever. Tech giants across the world are tempted to make world-class AI tools. Be it Google, OpenAI or Microsoft, each of them bringing apps powered by artificial intelligence.

Elon Musk, owner of Twitter and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla on Wednesday revealed the launch of its new AI company, xAI. The company has debuted to “understand the true nature of the universe”. As per xAI’s website, more information will be shared in a live Twitter Spaces chat by xAI’s team.

Who is part of xAI’s team?

Alumni of OpenAI, Microsoft Research, Google Research, DeepMind, Tesla and Twitter are founding members of xAI. These people have worked on projects including OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 chatbots and DeepMind’s AlphaCode. Elon Musk looks to give tough competition to companies like Google and Anthropic, OpenAI which are behind leading chatbots like Bard, Claude, and ChatGPT, respectively.

When xAI was incorporated?

Musk allegedly formed xAI in Nevada in March. Previously, he had changed the name of Twitter to “X Corp.” in some financial filings, but the company notes its separation from X Corp. on its website, adding that it will “work closely with X (Twitter), Tesla, and other firms to make progress towards our mission.”

According to Greg Yang, co-founder of xAI, the company will research the “mathematics of deep learning,” a subset of AI, and “develop the ‘theory of everything’ for large neural networks” in order to take AI “to the next level.”
